Stakeholders Meeting – Slovenia

Project Team

On December 11, 2025, EIMV hosted two parallel events to present the transnational EnFiCab project to key stakeholders in Slovenia. The events were organised in two formats:

  • an online meeting for a broader group of stakeholders, and
  • an in-person meeting for members of GIZ DEE, the working group for power cables.

Both groups were introduced to the objectives, methodology and expected outcomes of EnFiCab, a project focused on developing core insulation material with a mixture of fire-retardants for future electrical cables. As the envisioned product does not yet exist, one of the main goals of the meeting was to engage stakeholders early, ensuring that we begin paving the path from research innovation to a future market-ready solution.

Discussions highlighted that a successful transition to industrial application will require at least one additional research-industry project, enabling real-environment validation, adaptation to industrial requirements and preparation for market entry. Early dialogue with stakeholders is therefore essential – both for aligning the solution with industry expectations and for shaping a realistic commercialisation pathway, while keeping the whole life cycle of the final product in mind.

In the online session, Doroteja Zlobec from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation (MVZI), the founder of the Slovenian part of the project, also presented the M-ERA.NET system of projects and outlined the expectations for 2026.
